FSC's role in the EUTR implementation

In a recent press release, the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) points out that the FSC certification is not an alternative for the required due diligence system if you are importing certain timber products into the EU. However, FSC states that its certification '' helps to make implementation of such a system much easier''. FSC holds that with the recognition of NEPCon as monitoring organisation in the framework of the EU Timber Regulation, ''this has become clearer''.
