Ligna: More Performance in Sawing Accuracy and Feed Speeds

Germany: Varioboard Closes MDF Plant

The German producer of wood products Varioboard closes its MDF plant in Magdeburg, the company announced in a press release yesterday. End of production is scheduled for May 2nd. Pfleiderer Discloses Key Points for Financial Restructuring

In the form of a so-called posting, Pfleiderer AG yesterday sent the preliminary agreements for the Group’s financial restructuring to its creditors. It is planned that the creditors will waive their claim to a part of their financial receivables (excluding the Eastern Europe financing group) equal to 40 percent of the respective utilized credit lines, plus part of the accrued interest and fees.... Germany: Producer Prices For Wood Products in March

Price increases announced by lumber sawmills for the month of March could be enforced. In March, producer prices statistics from the German Federal Statistical Office Destatis shows a price increase for most lumber assortments. In Beech lumber, there is no change, while price movements in China Beech are not covered. There is little change as well in particle board prices since they are influenced by annual contracts.... Poland – Metso converts coal power plant

Metso will convert a coal fired CFB boiler to a biomass fired boiler for Elektrocieplownia Tychy S. A. in southern Poland. The total value of the order is approximately 20 million EUR.

Germany: Prices For Packaging Wood in Q1
