Building Permits Privately-owned housing units authorized by building permits in August were at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 1,886,000, according to estimates reported today by the U.S. Commerce Department's Census Bureau. Brazil: Record Wood Products Trade

Exports from Brazil?s agribusiness in the period January-August 2003 reached a record US$19.3 billion, 31 per cent higher than the same period 2002. The trade surplus reported was also a record US$16.2 billion. In the forest sector, wood and woodwork products had a surplus of US$1.5 billion, with total exports of US$1.6 billion.
