Spruce in Tyrol slightly more expensive in May

In April, the prices for spruce sawlogs in Tyrol rose slightly. Poorer qualities are under pressure in the wake of the high number of beetle attacks in northern Austria. The price difference between North and East Tyrol for the main assortment spruce assortment quality class B/C is of approximately 10 € / m3.

Roundwood prices list in Tyrol; April 2018:

  • Spruce sawlogs - quality class B/C; 2a-3b: € 89.17 / m³, + 1.5%
  • Spruce sawlogs- quality class C+: 62,48 € / m³, -4,2%
  • Softwood firewood- 30,47 € / m³, + 0,5%

3 month review (01.02.2018 - 30.04.2018):

  • Fir sawlogs quality class B/C: 82,78 €/m³
  • Larch sawlogs B/C: 109.93 € / m³
  • White pine sawlogs B/C: 66,82 €/m³
  • Spruce sawlogs (small diameters) B/C: 66,91 € / m³
  • Pulpwood spruce: 29,61 €/m³

Rundholzpreisindex Tirol (RUPI)

April 2018: 136.573%. The monthly index rose slightly in April with an average price of € 89.17 / m³ (+ 1.491%).

1st quarter of 2018: 135.961%. In the first quarter of the year, the Tyrolean roundwood price index rose slightly by 1.475% compared to the fourth quarter of 2017.
